Aartrijke

The design for the new Community Center Jonkhove seeks to be as respectful as possible in relation to the existing buildings and environment, in size, scale and architectural language.

It seeks to inspire and strengthen community life through a strong connection but at the same time flexible spatial structure with almost unlimited possibilities for functional interpretation and cooperation between the users. The building, designed as overlapping volumes, does justice to the diversity and collectivity of the program and its users, being itself a little village.

The building is innovative in terms of energy, climate and sustainable use of materials, without the need to use high-tech solutions, having therefore a natural and human character.
